Immunisation and advice can be obtained by phoning the Travel Clinic on 0141 889 7656, or by emailing info@thetravelclinicglasgow.co.uk , or by visiting www.thetravelclinicglasgow.co.uk .
The practice does not provide non-NHS travel immunisations. The following immunisations are provided by the NHS:
Vaccine
Tetanus/Low dose diphtheria/Polio
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Cholera
Private prescriptions can be issued for anti-malarial drugs at a cost of £10.00 (+ pharmacy fee).
If you are travelling to an area where any of the above vaccines are required, please ask our reception staff for a travel vaccination form for each person travelling or download the form below (at least eight weeks before travelling). Please hand the completed form to a member of the reception staff, who will arrange a time for the practice sister to phone you about your immunisations.
The practice sister will read your records in conjunction with the form to determine which, if any, vaccines are required. She will then phone you to discuss your requirements and will leave a prescription at reception for you, which you should collect and take to the pharmacy. At the same time, please make an appointment with sister to have the vaccine(s) administered. The pharmacy will keep the vaccine(s) until the day of your appointment to ensure they are kept at the correct temperature. Please note that the vaccine(s) should be administered at least six weeks before you travel if they are to be fully effective.
If the date of travel is less than four weeks away, the practice may not be able to accommodate your requirements.
If the date of travel is less than two weeks away, the practice will not be able to accommodate your requirements.
